Dear Members

Horses are great levellers!!

Some of you may or may not know by now but I am now the proud owner of Horace. Sophia said “I deserved every hair on his back” Funny I always thought she liked me!!!.  That aside I awoke the next day as giddy as hell and skipped down to the farm to ride MY horse for the 1st time beaming ear to ear!  Chloe, Hannah and I decided we would go up on the moor to blow the cobwebs out and to compensate for the fact that our ODE had been cancelled.  Would you believe it Hora pulled a front shoe off and hopped the rest of the way up the cows.  Knowing Alison Shaw has a wagon big enough for a giraffe I rung her in the hope she could come and rescue me.  Luckily Alison was just about to set off riding but she came to our aid and got us home, hopping but in one piece.  (Many thanks Alison) One would think that would be enough drama for one day but oh no this is Horace we are talking about, Chloe later reported that he had got him self stuck in the electric fencing (not turned on I hasten to add, but sometimes I think electric shock treatment may benefit him) and was carting around the field with tape and stakes in hot pursuit. Not content with this at tea time he decided that I wasn’t moving quite quick enough bringing his highness his tea he turned on me and gave me what for with both barrels, hitting the bucket and my finger!!!  (Bad luck comes in 3s or multiples there of when Hora is involved)

If it had been any other day then my advice to anyone

thinking about horse ownership would be

“DON’T DO IT YOU OWE IT TO YOUR SANITY”
