Happy New Year to you all
Dear Members
Well what a start to the New Year, I received an email congratulating me on winning a competition in Horse & Hound. I have, or should I say Horace has won free shoes for 12 months and a year’s supply of NAF Pro-Feet! Then on top of that we won the Dressage to Music at Bromley Farm on Saturday (granted there were only 2 in it but it was our 1st time). Lets just hope the winning streak continues…..
On a more serious note there have been several thefts of tack and farm equipment over Christmas and New year.

Curry & Cards Night 27th January 2009 Cinnamon Lodge Meltham 7.30pm
Our first event of the New Year will be an evening with Bruce Forsyth (John Eaton really) in an effort to raise funds for much needed new show jumps.
Tickets are £12 and are available from all committee members and yes you guessed it “Tack & Turnout”. After the buffet style curry there will be a chance to have a go at play your cards right and the winner could walk away with a fortune! (Ahem well a few quid!) You don’t have to be a member to come, everyone welcome. (TICKETS ARE NOW IN SHORT SUPPLY)
Race Night 27th February – Meltham Cricket Club
There will be 6 races with 6 horses in each race. Horses can be purchased at £5 each. If you or your business would like to sponsor a race please contact Charlotte on 07736034596 or 01484 854316. (Please can you put the poster up at your stables. Thanks)
Points Events at Club Field
After considerably deliberation we have decided that we are going back to Wednesdays. We changed to Tuesdays in an effort not to clash with Woodnook and try to gain some more entries. Tuesdays does not seem to have made a difference. So back to Wednesdays it is. We have also decided to try splitting the Show Jumping over two nights this year.

Eileen Senior is holding a Dressage Event in aid of Jay Jones – Performing Arts Fund. Class 1 is for beginners and Class 2 is Open. Entries are £6 per class.
