The fun show on 29th August was again a great success and we managed to miss the rain that arrived at the end of the day. A fun day was had by all and the flapjack went down well! We hope Gypsy the dog (who had many entries in the Horse & Hound class) has recovered now from running and jumping around the course so many times!!

Events for the point’s shows at the club field have come to an end for this year but look out for details of Team Events, such as dressage and show jumping. If you hear of any other events then let us know and we will put details in the newsletters.

Colne Valley Saddle Club Annual General Meeting

Thursday 27th October 2011 Presentation & Curry Evening to be held at Monsoon – Slaithwaite 19.30 till 22.30. Tickets are available from committee members or from Tack & Turnout. Cost £11 per head for buffet curry.

If you do not want to eat at the buffet then please do still turn up to the meeting and presentation. Family members/partners/friends are all welcome either for the buffet and/or to the meeting and presentation.

Membership to CVSC runs out at the AGM in October so please do come along to rejoin or send your membership renewals or new member applications via the post.

The intention of the AGM is to reflect over the past year and to go through the finances of the club.  It is also the chance to elect new people to the committee (no pressure applied!).  All members are eligible to attend, make comments or recommendations to the club officials and amend the rules by which the club operates.

So why not come along, and see what it is all about? There are vacant posts on the committee but no one is press ganged on to it – so you can safely come along!  Be there or don’t complain you are not getting what you want from your club!!

We will also be giving out the trophies and rosettes for the points shows this year.  If you had a trophy last year please ensure that it is returned engraved and cleaned.  You can drop them off at Tack and Turnout or bring them with you to the meeting.

The buffet curry will follow after the meeting so if not having the food then please do come along to the meeting and presentations.

Forthcoming Events at the Club Field

Fun Show provisionally planned for October half term on the first Saturday of half term holiday. This will be weather dependent and further details will follow in October newsletter and on the website.

Pole Moor Riding Club - Horseman’s Carol Service

All local riding clubs and friends are warmly invited to:  A 'Horseman’s Carol Service' in Slaithwaite (car park op Shoulder of Mutton) on Sunday 11th December at 12 noon.

There will be a trophy for the BEST TURNED OUT horse and rider and rosettes to 6th place.

It is £4 (min) to enter the turn-out and a collection will be made around the village for 'Andrea's Gift' a local charity for Brain Tumour Research in memory of Robert Coupland.

It will be a short service so the horses do not get restless - and in our experience they have always enjoyed listening to the carols!

Do all attend - it is a lovely friendly community get-together!

Hope to see you there.

There is parking for boxes in Salamander car park just nearby.

Please mention to wear hi-viz if hacking to the venue.

Refreshments available at the barge
